Episode #51: Keeping Voters in Their Lane

In this episode, Jacob and Eric first discuss the newly-declared congressional candidacy of Brandon Michon, the Loudoun County father whose viral rant back in January 2021 arguably started the anti-school board protest movement, and whether or not his bid for Virginia’s 10th district is a wise move or a vanity run. They then shift to Tennessee, praising the successful gerrymandering efforts by Republicans there to gut the political power of deep-blue Nashville, before addressing the MAGA backlash against President Trump for endorsing Morgan Ortagus, a former State Department official and professional bureaucrat, for Tennessee’s new 5th district, despite more widespread grassroots support in favor of Republican candidate Robby Starbuck. After reacting to an encouraging Harvard/Harris poll that seems to indicate a seismic shift of suburban voters back to Trump and the GOP after just one year of Biden, they turn back to Ukraine for the main topic; namely, reviewing some of the most egregious examples of Republican lawmakers scolding Tucker Carlson for his non-interventionist stance, which represents the general view of most Americans.
